From 15 to 17 October 2025, the University of Maribor once again hosted the third Festival of Science – FestUM 2025. This year’s event successfully brought together researchers, students, educational institutions and the wider public, united by curiosity, creativity and a shared desire to better understand the world through science.

The festival featured a wide range of workshops, lectures, round-table discussions and presentations of research projects, addressing current challenges in contemporary research, the role of science in society and the importance of higher education within the European context. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the University of Maribor’s scientific achievements, engage in dialogue with researchers and participate in interactive activities designed for both young and experienced researchers.

The festival was held as part of Science Month and was co-organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
