Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. Running from 2014 to 2020, the EU’s new programme for research and innovation is part of the drive to create new growth and jobs in Europe.
Budget: 80 billion.


Erasmus+ is the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sport for 2014-2020. It will provide grants for individuals, support transnational partnerships among education, training and youth organisations and support grassroots projects and cross-border challenges.
Budget: 14,7 billion

Cohesion Policy 2014-2020

Cohesion policy has two main goals for 2014-2020:
•    Investment for growth and jobs,
•    European territorial co-operation.
Two structural funds - European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European Social Fund (ESF) - and Cohesion Fund are set up to ensure reaching those goals.
Budget: 336 billion EUR. For Slovenia: 3,2 billion EUR.

Cross-border Co-operation Programmes
Slovenia can cooperate in four programmes (Podravje region in the first three):
 Budget: 5,6 billion EUR
Transnational Co-operation Programmes
Slovenia can cooperate in the following programmes:
Budget: 1,8 billion EUR
Interregional Co-operation Programmes

Pan-european programmes are supporting exchange of good practices between regions: INTERREG IVC, INTERACT II, ESPON and URBACT.
