ABOUT THE PROJECT

For over a decade we have been witnessing a significant increase of research activity in various fields. Nursing is not an exception, and we are daily exposed to thousands of papers on novel approaches, techniques or methods that could be applied in practice. Evidence based nursing aims to provide an approach that should enable nurses to manage the vast amount of available knowledge and consequently improve the delivery of nursing care for the individual patient.

This winter school will provide participants with pedagogical introduction to evidence based nursing and group work focused on critical appraisal of relevant evidence and application of EBN principles to different aspects of health care waste management. The students will be able to choose from core topics for individual and supervised group work that will include environmental health, public health ecology, prevention, reduction and control of hospital-acquired infections, etc.

Lectures and group work will be aimed at undergraduate students with basic background in nursing or related fields. Additionally, students will be able to attend excursions to different related institutions. The last day of the winter school will include the poster session with presentations of the work done by students during the two weeks of the winter school.
